One day we got a random call to hop on a job down in Ardmore Studios. Thankfully we were in a position to oblige.
“What’s the project?” I asked.
“Just come down. You’ll see when you get here,” they said.
I pulled up to the gate, the security guard smiled when I said I wasn’t told which project I was there for. I was waved on in and as I drove through the lot, strung out with nerves, all I could think was that I’d picked the wrong week to quit smoking.
As I was escorted into the Art Department, I was surrounded by walls lined with concept art. Dinosaur concept art. I was asked to wait. ‘No. It couldn’t be… not in Ireland…”
The fantastic production designer Tom Conroy, who I’d met on The Rhythm Section popped his head around the door, “I’ll bring you up to see the director now. Do you know Colin?”
“Yes Tom, yes I do”
Incredible experience.
